Prayers for the Pope

The Cardinal Newman Society has launched a prayer campaign for Pope Benedict XVI.

Please join the prayer campaign for our Holy Father at

http://www.cardinalnewmansociety.org/CardinalNewmanSociety/tabid/36/ctl/Details/mid/435/ItemID/816/Default.aspx

We cannot underestimate the power of prayer. It is like sweet incense to our LORD.

...the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones. Revelation 5:8

Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:1

Eve vs. Mary

How beautiful that although we fell into sin by Eve saying "yes" to Satan, we were redeemed by Mary saying "yes" in absolute faith to Our Lord. In most languages (Latin, Hebrew, etc.) Eve is said EVA, if you reverse that you have the greeting for Our Blessed Mother: AVE. I learned this wonderful tidbit in a Bible/Catechetical Study by Tim Madrid. You can find him at www.timothymadrid.blogspot.com

Our Father has such amazing plans for us and such a great sense of humor.
